There are some comments and memories that I have debated if they are worth documenting. I decided to mention this event to have a record to share with Claire when she has a daughter... you know the daughter that knows more than you.
As you know, the kids do not wear uniforms at their school here. I MISS the uniforms. Anyway, this provides a daily opportunity for Claire and me to disagree. I asked her please to wear nice clothes because we had errands to run after school. She came down the stairs dressed like a homeless person. I told her that she needed to "try again." In her frustrated tone, accompanied with the roll of the eyes, she said "Mom you do not have a sense of style. My outfit is fine." (Notice the quotes...these were her exact words). What have I done? I created this fashion "monster." I fondly remember the days where I could dress her in precious smocked dresses with matching shoes. It was adorable.
BTW, does she know that I have had a subscription to "IN STYLE" magazine for almost ten years. That should count toward my sense of style, right? I have no sense of style?!!!! I will remember this forever, especially today when I go shopping trying to redeem myself in the eyes of an eight year old. LOL!
Anyway, my choice to document these events is driven by the fact that this will be around to share with Claire when her daughter is rolling her eyes at her and questioning her sense of fashion. I CAN'T WAIT!!!
