Mt. Evans

On our way to Breckenridge, we visited Mt. Evans. It is difficult to tell in the picture, but we are above the clouds. The kids said we were flying. It was amazing!! Again, it is difficult to capture the beauty in pictures.

Botanical Gardens

We also visited the Botanical Gardens. The kids enjoyed walking through the gardens...or should I say running through the gardens. They were full of energy and excitement.

Anderson Farms

We also visited a farm. The kids loved it!! They were able to run through a corn maze, feed animals, and pick pumpkins. It was such a beautiful place to visit. The mountains were in the background. It is difficult to capture the beauty in pictures. We were there until the sun set. The sun setting behind the mountains was amazing.

Kari, Dean, and Cooper/ Red Rocks

My sister, her husband, and son Cooper came to visit us. It was such a great weekend. The kids were so excited to see each other. Cooper and Drew tackled each other in the airport because they were so excited.

Field Trip

Last Monday, Drew and I accompanied Braden and his class to the zoo. It was a VERY chilly day; however, that proved advantageous because the animals were quite active in an attempt to keep warm. We were able to see a lot of things we had not seen before. I have never been to the zoo in the cold weather, but I must admit it is a good time to go.
The field trip also provided me the opportunity to give thanks that I did not chose a career in education. I do not have the patience it requires to chase kids daily. The kids were everywhere. Seriously, I would have to be medicated to do that every day. It takes a special person to be an educator.
Braden had a great day, and it is always fun to see him interact with his friends. He told me yesterday that he loves it here. I think he is very happy in Colorado, but I must say, Braden is happy everywhere he goes. He has the best spirit...super laid back and easy going.

Our first snow

Today was our first snow. Can you believe it is snowing on October 21st. I think the weather in Arkansas is in the 70-80 degree range. What a difference!
The kids and I took a walk around the neighborhood. It was a beautiful sight; however, true to what everyone has told us, the snow didn't last that long. By 2PM the sun was shining and the snow was melting. That is the best way to experience snow...short periods with a lot of sunshine.
